:: Batman (1989)
 Movie Plot
Gotham City: dark, dangerous, 'protected' only by a mostly corrupt police department. Despite the best efforts of D.A. Harvey Dent and police commissioner Jim Gordon, the city becomes increasingly unsafe...until a Dark Knight arises. We all know criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot...so his disguise must be able to strike terror into their hearts. He becomes a bat. Enter Vicky Vale, a prize-winning photo journalist who wants to uncover the secret of the mysterious "bat-man". And enter Jack Napier, one-time enforcer for Boss Grissom, horribly disfigured after a firefight in a chemical factory...who, devoid of the last vestiges of sanity, seizes control of Gotham's underworld as the psychotic, unpredictable Clown Prince of Crime...the Joker. Gotham's only hope, it seems, lies in this dark, brooding vigilante. And just how does billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne fit into all of this?

I think Jack is the best Joker I've ever seen, EVER! My childhood passed loving this character. I even hated him dying at the end of the film! Really funny...

Jack acting out the Joker is a classic example of his innane ability of turning semi if not psychotic personalities into intelligent. and more importantly, likable charcters.

We will probably never see an actor embody a character like Jack Napier/The Joker as Jack Nicholson did again. It was masterful. Also my first time seeing Mr. Nicholson in a film and it's still to this day my favorate film.

A very good movie. With this movie, I discovered Jack Nicholson for the first time when I was a boy and as I was fascinated by the Joker, I immediatly love Jack Nicholson. Batman is the better movie that I watched with Jack Nicholson. After, I watched a lot of movies and I loved all his movies but my favourite is BATMAN

If you like to say bad things about Jack please, don't come here. Jack, don't worry, you'll be the only real Joker, I never going to betray you!!!

I just watched Batman The Dark Knight. I found Heath Ledger's performance very similar to Jack Nicholson's performance. My guess is that Heath studied Jack's performance out of respect.

It's one of my favourite Tim Burton's film and it's also the first Jack Nicholon's film I saw. from that moment he became my favourite actor (and Tim Burton my favourite director)!!! They're really FANTASTIC!!!!

Only Jack knows how to play the Joker and he is closer to the spirit of the Batman creator! Some of
Ledger’s Joker mannerisms in the Dark Knight like the pausing to lick his lips and the cackling sound so closely resembles Jack’s Joker, that I though Ledger would’ve picked it up in Batman before he reinterpreted his version of the Joker. Jack’s Joker in Batman made us laugh & cringe in fear AT THE SAME TIME. IMHO, that’s the beauty of Jack’s Joker & one tough act to follow.

You never was, is or is the Joker that he was, is consistent with the past without success of that character and enjoy the same award he will be absent !!!!!
